Lucifugum/Instinct Prevelance/Dark Horizon Records/2001 CD Compilation Review

Lucifugum are a band from Ukraine that plays an atmospheric and raw form of satanic/occult/black metal and this is a review of their 2001 CD Compilation "Instinct Prevelence" which was released by Dark Horizon Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being used at times, while the keyboards are very dark and atmospheric sounding, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with some raw primal black metal riffing.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast raw black metal riffing that also utilizes some melodies, and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are all high pitched black metal screams mixed in with some grim sounding vocals, while the lyrics are written in a mixture of Ukrainian and English with themes that cover Satanism, Occultism, and Black Magick, as for the production it is very dark, raw and primal sounding.

In my opinion Lucifugum are a very good atmospheric satanic/occult/black metal band, and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE ""The Mysterious Garden (Hymn To The Black Art)" "The Sabbat" "Nechar Nechb" and ""Um, Mydpblm Bemseu". RECOMMENDED BUY.
