Primigenium/Art Of War/Full Moon Productions/1997 CD Review

Primigenium are a band from Spain that plays a very raw and primitive form of black metal and this is a review of their 1997 album "Art Of War" which was released by Full Moon Productions.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats, while the synths which are only used on the intros and outros bring a very epic feeling to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very strong and powerful with riffs that dominate throughout the recording.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding while the lead guitars when they are utilized are very raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar solos and leads.

Vocals are all grim sounding black metal screams with a brief use of ritualistic sounding demonic growls, while the lyrics cover darkness, occultism and anti christian themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion this was a great album from Primigenium and if you are a fan of raw and primitive sounding black metal, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Embrace Me Darkness" "Shall The Forest Open For Us" and "Pact Of Solitude". RECOMMENDED BUY.
