GGUW/Gegen Gravitation und Willensfreiheit/2011 Record Review

GGUW are a band from Germany that plays a very modern raw and primitive form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2011 Ep "Gegen Gravitation und Willensfreiheit".

Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding that mix old school black metal with more modern sounds and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams that have a very depressive feeling to them at times, while the lyrics cover Animality, Nature and Darkness, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion GGUW are a very great modern day sounding raw and primitive black metal that touches on nature and if you a fan of this style of music, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Untitled 3". RECOMMENDED BUY.
