Deildegast/Lost Histories/2011 Demo Review

This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Deildegast  which  continues  their  raw  and  primitive  approach  to  nature  orientated  black  metal  with  the  demo  being  self  released  in  2011  and  called  "Lost  Histories".

Drum  programming  ranges from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  beats  which  have  a  very  primitive  sound  to  them,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars,  as  for  the  folk  instruments  when  they  are  utilized  they  bring  an  Appalachian  feeling  to  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to  give  the  recording  a  southern  folk  music  feeling.

Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  with  some  samples  being  utilized  at  times  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  clean  singing,  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  nature  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a very  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  demo  from  Deildegast  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  nature   and  folk  music  orientated  primitive  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Triumph"  and  "Reverted  To  Burnt  Soil".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
