Oaks Of Bethel/Lakes In The Dry Season/EEE Recordings/2013 EP Review

This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Oaks  Of  Bethel  with  the  musical  style  this  time  around  being  a  mixture  of  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black  metal  mixed  with  dark  ambient  and  drone  while  also  adding  in  vocals  this  time  around  with  the  ep  being  called  "Lakes  In  The  Dry  Season"  and  released  by  EEE  Recordings.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars, a s  for t he  sound  effects  they  bring  elements  of  drone  and  noise  to  the  ep.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  elements  of  drone  and  dark  ambient  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  range  from  clean  singing  to  spoken  word  parts,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Nature,  Culture,  and  Ancestry,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sound  with  the  only  song  on  this  recording  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  ep  from  Oaks  Of  Bethel  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  primitive  black  metal  mixed  with  dark  ambient,  noise  and  drone,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
