Oaks Of Bethel/River Of Tears/EEE Recordings/2013 EP Review

This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Oaks  Of  Bethel  with  the  musical  style  being  ambient  black  metal  mixed  with  drone  and  psychedelia  with  the  ep  being  released  by  EEE  Recordings  and  called  "River  Of  Tears".

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the guitars,  as  for  the  field  recordings  when  they  are  utilized  bring  in  the  dark  ambient,  experimental  and  noise  elements  to  the  ep.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  ambient  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  repetitive,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  along  with  some  elements  of  drone  and  psychedelia  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  as  well  as  some  dark  sounding  melodies  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  which  are  only  utilized  briefly  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to  add  elements  of  folk  music  to  the  ep.

Vocals  range  from  spoken  word  parts  to  clean  singing  with  no  growls  or  screams  being  utilized  on  the  ep,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Nature, and  Culture,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  with  the  only  song  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Oaks  Of  Bethel  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  primitive  black  metal  and  drone,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
